Who is Ms. Price?
Hello. I am Amy Price. I am currently in my 5th year of teaching. My first teaching position was teaching 5th grade at Cleveland Elementary in Lawton. After that first year, I was moved to Washington to teach 3rd grade. I was in that position for two years, and enjoyed it very much! At the end of the 2012-13 school year, our wonderful 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Peck, moved to Kansas. This opened up the 5th grade position and I was asked to fill it. This is my second year teaching 5th grade at Washington Elementary.
I believe that all children can learn. All children are brilliant. It is my job, as a teacher, to help my students find where they shine and help them do just that. It is also my job, as a 5th grade teacher, to help prepare my students for 6th grade and life at middle school. I take pride in my job and my students. I have high expectations for my students and I let them know that. I expect them to give their best in their work. I expect them to always try. I expect them to never give up. I tell my students, "When you get to a hard concept, something frustrating, you have two choices. You can let that concept beat you, or you can keep trying, ask for help, and beat it!"
